'92 Till Infinity

You know it's a good show when you're having a hard time narrowing down which looks to put up, the exact scenario I found myself in after looking at Peter Pilotto's Fall 2013 collection. It was a collection that was tougher and masculine in design, yet bold and colorful in prints. There was a mixture of structure shoulders, cropped jackets, dresses with new cuts, wrap skirts and high necklines. I was most impressed by the outerwear, the boxy masculine jackets and printed puffy coats.

I haven't felt too inspired by many of the collections that have been showing this week in New York, but we're still only at the first stop so I won't jump the gun on the Fall 2013 season. One of the collections that did catch my eye, however, was Milly by Michelle Smith. I'm currently craving anything holographic and metallic, which there was a shit load of walking down this runway. The best part was all the cool, wearable pieces that any girl would die to have in their closet! My favorite definitely has to be the geometric print mini dress with the leather sleeves.

One of the first labels I ever really got into was Balmain. I was obsessed with their signature embelishments, mini dresses and amazing tailoring. Also, I was pretty astonished at the fact that Olivier Rousteing, who took over for the house in 2011, was only twenty five years old when he succeded Christophe Decarnin. That's a major accomplishment to be able to follow in the footsteps of Pierre Balmain and Oscar De La Renta, at such a young age. As I began discovering more designers and more brands, I kind of put Balmain in the back burner. However, their Pre-Fall 2013 collection brought it all back for me and reminded me why I  fell in love with Balmain in the first place. There's just no way you can't swoon over this.
